2nd Chance Counseling, LLC exists to assist its clients in Reaffirming, Restoring, and Reconnecting relationships by working with and helping individuals to create the lives they want and deserve in a meaningful and responsible manner.

2nd Chance Counseling, LLC empowers its clients to change their circumstances regardless of those circumstances. We believe that every person deserves a second chance to create change and be a part of the process that results in a better him or her.

Wendy Washington, owner of 2nd Chance Counseling, LLC, has over 20+ years of experience in working with children and/or their families. Wendy has worked with children and/or their families who maybe going through family matters of separation, divorce, child support/custody matters, communication difficulties, blended family difficulties, co-parenting issues, loss of relationships, involvement with the SCDJJ, involvement with the SCDSS, and/or the Guardian ad Litem Program.

Education:

In 2006, Wendy obtained an Associate Degree in Public Service: Paralegal Studies from Florence-Darlington Technical College, Florence, South Carolina. In 2010, Wendy obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from Virginia Wesleyan University, Norfolk, Virginia. In 2013, Wendy obtained a Master of Arts Degree in Marriage and Family Studies from Liberty University, Lynchburg, Virginia. After completing her graduate requirements, practicums, internships, and completing the National Counseling Examination (NCE), in 2020, Wendy obtained her South Carolina State License through the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation, Board of Examiners for Professional Counselors, Marriage & Family Therapists; Psycho-Education Specialists, as a Licensed Professional Counselor.

Privacy and Confidentiality

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) lays out three rules for protecting patient health information, namely: The Privacy Rule. The Security Rule. The Breach Notification Rule. HIPAA permits health care providers to disclose to other health providers any protected health information (PHI) contained in the medical record about an individual for treatment, case management, and coordination of care and, with few exceptions, treats mental health information the same as other health information.
